Where do I get the official uniform from?

If you order the uniform through the 1st Chivenor Scout Group Leaders, it will benefit Scout Groups in North Devon. If the uniform is bought from commercial suppliers who supply the official uniform then it will benefit that business. Please buy through our group.

What do we need to buy?

It is best not to buy anything straightaway as your child may not even like Beavers, Cubs or Scouts (it is not for everyone), but we hope they will stay. If after two or three weeks you feel your child(ren) are happy to commit, then the first step is to buy the Cubs Powerpack (handbook available from us).

The Beaver or Cub jumper/Scout shirt is vital - it is to show off all the badges earned. There are great activity trousers that are highly recommended - they will be needed for many events - we are a uniformed organisation.

A neckerchief. See the Leaders.

Do not buy any badges - they are available from us - cost is usually included in subs and activity costs.

Handbooks - these are available for each Section so that parents/carers can see what we their children need to do to be invested, gain awards etc.

When can the uniform be worn?

        Once the uniform has been bought. However, they cannot wear any badges or the neckerchief until they are invested.
